This drill is especially important for beginners, who need to understand that they should first swing the golf club back and then turn their body to reach the top. Once at the top, they should start to turn the body back to generate momentum and then swing the club down through the ball.
When you turn and swing out of order, you can create bad mechanics that develop an inconsistent golf stroke.
